Santa Cruz County is seeking young adults ages 14 to 24 to serve on a newly formed Youth Advisory Task Force.

It will have 15 members with the hope of achieving “a broad spectrum of backgrounds and perspectives.” The task force will meet monthly and learn about how county boards, commissions, committees and department advisory boards work; identify the needs and concerns of teens and young adults; explore how other communities are engaging youth in civic life; and weigh the advantages and disadvantages of various approaches and proposals.

Participants must live or work in Santa Cruz County and will have the option to receive a $75 stipend per meeting or earn community service hours for school credit. They must be able to attend monthly meetings in various locations across the county, but bus passes will be provided to help with transportation.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 20. The Task Force will meet for the first time in October. To fill out an application, visit https://tinyurl.com/YouthAdvisoryTaskForce.
