The Scotts Valley farmers market will host its summertime foodshed project event on Saturday, June 28, celebrating seasonal produce and family-friendly fun.

Visitors can expect fresh stone fruit, berries, sweet corn, peppers and heirloom tomatoes. Activities will include face painting, an art table hosted by the Boys & Girls Club and a visit from Santa Cruz Public Libraries with book checkouts and a market scavenger hunt. Guests can also make smoothies on a bicycle-powered blender using fresh market fruit.

Live music will also be in the air while local vendors, including Companion Bakeshop and Hidden Fortress Coffee, serve seasonal offerings.

Casalegno Family Farm also returns with heirloom tomatoes, beans, basil and heritage red garlic. The Market Match program also continues, doubling the first $15 spent using CalFresh/EBT for fresh produce at all five Santa Cruz Community Farmers’ Market locations
