Santa Cruz City Schools: Yes on Measures K & L take commanding lead
As of Wednesday, yes on Measure K for the Santa Cruz High School District had 63% of the vote while those opposing it had 37%, with 17,994 votes counted. Those supporting Santa Cruz Elementary School District Measure L had 66% of the vote and those opposing it had 34%, out of the total 8,835 votes counted.
Pajaro Valley Health Care District candidates Joe Gallagher, Marcus Pimentel remain in the lead
Retired physician Joe Gallagher remained in the lead on Wednesday for one of two open seats on the board, with 41.61% of the vote. Marcus Pimentel had earned 31.36% of votes counted. Fellow board incumbent Jasmine Notanee Nájera trailed with 26.26%.
Soquel Creek Water District: Incumbents Jaffe, Christensen, Lather appear headed to reelection
In the race for three spots as directors of the Soquel Creek Water District, Bruce Jaffe, Rachel Lather and Carla Christensen led as as the top three vote-getters on Wednesday, with 27.83% (4,280 votes), 27.43% (4,219) and 24.33% (3,742) respectively. Challengers Kris Kirby (10.66%) and Corrie Kates (9.38%) were trailing.
Santa Cruz City Council: Renée Golder holds strong lead over Sean Maxwell in Westside’s District 6 race
Incumbent Santa Cruz City Councilmember Renée Golder was on track for a victory in the District 6 race. On Wednesday, Golder led with 63% of the vote (819 votes) to challenger Sean Maxwell’s 37% (476 votes).
