Donations sought for Santa Cruz County recreation scholarships
County Park Friends is seeking donations from the public for an effort to raise $30,000 for access scholarships for local youth to participate in Santa Cruz County parks and recreation programs.
Santa Cruz County plans restoration work at Freedom Lake
The Santa Cruz County Parks Department is planning a “collaborative initiative” to restore and maintain Freedom Lake in Watsonville that will remove invasive and overgrown non-native vegetation that has limited access to the lake’s shore.
Floating walkway, new signs to be unveiled at Neary Lagoon
The City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation and Public Works departments, in partnership with the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, on Tuesday will celebrate the completion of improvements to the Neary Lagoon Wildlife Refuge Interpretive Trail, made possible by a grant from the California Habitat Conservation Fund.
