Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on May 29

  • There is ongoing construction at the intersection of Highway 1 North and Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The California Highway Patrol is assisting with the operation, involving vehicles Z58 and Z60. The work is expected to continue until about 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. The closure is in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with traffic control in place. The project will continue until February 2026.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak will have traffic delays and lane closures today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project, weather permitting. Construction also took place on April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
