Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on May 13

  • A traffic hazard was reported today at Crg12 and San Miguel Canyon Rd in Watsonville/Pajaro. It started as a disabled vehicle with someone inside but was later updated to a traffic hazard. CHP was present to handle the situation until the vehicle was towed.
     
  • There was a traffic incident today at the intersection of Highway 1 North and Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The California Highway Patrol assisted with a construction-related issue.
     
  • Vegetation work on Highway 152 east of Watsonville will cause one-way traffic control from May 12 to May 16. Crews will be working with flagging operations during this period.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
     
  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue is closed due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures in the area, weather permitting. Construction is happening from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended work hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 12-13.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is experiencing single lane closures and traffic delays due to storm damage repair. This will continue until today, with work taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
