Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on June 4

  • A traffic collision happened on Highway 17 North at the intersection with Laurel Road in Scotts Valley. It was reported as a non-injury incident today.
     
  • There was a traffic incident at the intersection of Highway 17 North and Sugarloaf Road in Scotts Valley. The California Highway Patrol assisted with construction, and officers were on detail until 1:00 a.m. This was reported today.
     
  • There was a traffic incident on Highway 1 South near Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The northbound lane between Buena Vista and Las Vegas was closed due to construction, with updates provided until 9:30 p.m. This was reported today.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive in Scotts Valley, is closed for the SCWD and SLVWD pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until February 2026.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak will have traffic delays and lane closures today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project, weather permitting. On April 12-13, construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
