Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on October 29

  • A box was found in the eastbound lane at 235 SR-152 in the Watsonville / Pajaro area, creating a traffic hazard. This was reported today. No vehicle was connected to the box.
     
  • A traffic collision happened at 7:35 p.m. today on northbound Highway 1 at Buena Vista in the Watsonville / Pajaro area. A white older Acura Legend and a gray Toyota Corolla were involved. The crash was caused by a light-colored car speeding and trying to pass on the right. No one was hurt. There was debris in the road, and tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles.
     
  • CHP helped with a construction project at the intersection of Highway 9 and Cresta Drive in San Lorenzo Valley. Units M1 and D2 patrolled the construction zone until 1:30 a.m. The incident was reported today.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on North Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on December 5.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue in Twin Lakes, Eastside / Live Oak is closed because of ongoing project work. The road will stay closed until October 31 due to unexpected conditions that are causing delays.
     
  • PG&E has started work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. There is a soft road closure in the area, and construction is expected to continue through November 25.
