Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on July 16

  • There was a traffic incident on Highway 1 South at Bay Porter in Capitola/Soquel. At 9:28 p.m., both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for about 15 minutes at Cap Ocross due to a running break for construction.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for roadwork. This closure will continue until August 29 at 6:30 a.m.
     
  • A traffic crash involving two male motorcyclists happened at the on-ramp of SR129 and Highway 1 North in Watsonville/Pajaro. Emergency services arrived, and CPR was given to an unresponsive person. Traffic was rerouted to handle the situation. The incident was reported today.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for a pipeline project. Traffic control is in place, and the closure is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue will have traffic delays and lane closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Construction is scheduled for April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
