Road incidents as of 8:30 p.m. on November 19

  • A hit and run happened at 523 7th Ave. in Eastside / Live Oak at 8:01 p.m. today. An unknown vehicle hit a large flower pot, pushing it into the street. The driver left the scene a few minutes later. No one was hurt. Debris and dirt were left in the road, but a group later moved the flower pot out of the way.
     
  • Southbound Highway 17 in the Eastside / Live Oak area is facing closures for road striping. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • A Silver Alert was issued today for a missing elderly person in Aptos, Santa Cruz County.
     
  • One-way traffic control is in place on North Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on December 5.
     
  • A lane on East SR-129 at Main Street in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for pavement repair. The closure is expected to end at 5:01 a.m. today.
     
  • Northbound Highway 17 in Scotts Valley is facing closures for road striping. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • PG&E has started work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. Construction is underway and will continue through November 25, with a soft closure in the area.
