Three hikers, including two young children showing signs of hypothermia, were rescued late Sunday night from a remote trail in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, authorities said.
California State Parks and Cal Fire CZU requested help from the California Highway Patrol to locate the hikers, the CHP said in a social media post. A CHP helicopter crew was able to land on the trail and make contact with the lost group.
All three hikers were flown to a waiting fire crew and paramedics. “The three were treated and released with a loved one that had been searching for them,” the CHP wrote.
