The City of Watsonville will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration on Sunday at 10 a.m. to mark the grand opening of the newly built pickleball courts and upgraded basketball courts at Callaghan Park.
The improvements were funded through Measures R and Y, both of which support enhancements to Watsonville’s parks and public recreation spaces.
Highlights of free, family-friendly events include a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, beginner pickleball tutorials and paddle demos. City leaders, project partners and community members will also be on hand for the ribbon cutting.
