As Super Bowl LX approaches, Santa Cruz County Parks is hosting free, all-ages “punt, pass and kick” events during the first week of February. The NFL’s championship game is set for Sunday, Feb. 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, pitting the Seattle Seahawks against the New England Patriots.

Each event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the following parks:

  • Next Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Mesa Village County Park, 790 Green Valley Rd., Watsonville
  • Next Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Brommer Street County Park, 1451 30th Ave., Live Oak
  • Next Thursday, Feb. 5, at Highlands County Park, 500 Highway 9, Ben Lomond

Each event will feature a series of agility stations, including a broad jump, 40-yard dash and punt, pass and kick trials. Former San Francisco 49ers kicker Joe Nedney is scheduled to attend Wednesday’s Live Oak event.

Participants will get free giveaways and cookies and the chance to win prizes, courtesy of community partners including the 49ers.

No registration is required, and participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.
