The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed March as Civil Grand Jury Awareness Month.
Meanwhile, the Superior Court of Santa Cruz County is recruiting applicants for the 2026–27 civil grand jury term.
The civil grand jury consists of 19 volunteers who consider community concerns, examine how well local government agencies are serving the public and write reports that recommend ways to improve.
Jurors volunteer 10 to 20 hours per week and receive mileage reimbursement and $15 per day for attending meetings.
Community members interested in learning more about service are invited to attend one of the two upcoming information sessions. Both are open to the public, and no registration is required.
The first information session will be held on April 2 at 12:30 p.m. at 399 Encinal St., Santa Cruz. The second session will be held on April 3 at 12:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Applications may be submitted through the court’s NEOGOV portal before the deadline of April 28. For assistance, email hrinfo@santacruzcourt.org.
