According to a post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page, deputies were alerted to a sexual battery involving a child that occurred several years ago. Investigators identified at least two victims, obtained a warrant and arrested 67-year-old Kevin Hurley on March 21.

Since Hurley was previously involved with a local youth agricultural program and a church group, detectives are looking for other possible victims.

According to a complaint filed in Santa Cruz Superior Court, Hurley is facing four counts of sexual battery. Three incidents occurred at Disneyland and one in Santa Cruz County. The victims were a boy and girl, aged 13 and 12, respectively. Investigators did not name the victims. The crimes involve touching the genitalia and buttocks of the children.

A person who told Lookout that they had known Hurley for almost 30 years said he worked with a number of youth groups, including those associated with a church, a Christian music festival and a local 4-H community club program. Lookout is choosing not to name the person because of their concern about being associated with this case.

The sheriff’s office asks community members with information related to this case to call 831-471-1121.
