The SafeRx project aims to distribute Narcan to six local bars, three in North County and three in South County. The organization has successfully partnered with one establishment thus far, the Slough Brewing Collective in Watsonville, and hopes to collaborate with several more in the new year.

Kate Hull (she/her) joins Lookout as part of her fall internship in the Science Communications master’s degree program at UC Santa Cruz. Kate’s background is in neuroscience, and she spent the past four years doing addiction research in Kentucky and Chicago.Kate is excited to combine her loves of science and storytelling to make scientific findings more accessible to the public. In her free time, Kate loves spending time outdoors and can be found hiking, surfing or lounging on the beach. She is excited to live in Santa Cruz, where she can actually do all of these activities.
