On August 6 the City of Santa Cruz welcomes families, friends, and neighbors to the National Night Out hosted at the Kaiser Permanente Arena. The FREE event will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering a range of activities, food, attractions, and competitions. This year’s event features jumbo yard games, a dunk tank, a bounce house, fire drill relays, face painting, corn hole, and more!

All are welcome, and the city will provide a FREE shuttle service via the Santa Cruzer. The shuttle will run stops to and from the Locust St. Garage, Del Mar Theatre, and Depot Parking Lot. Happening across the country, National Night Out aims to facilitate interactions between residents and city officials, including law enforcement and public safety teams.

Get up close to our local police, fire, and public works vehicles and get to know the people who operate those vehicles on our streets every day. Santa Cruz Chief of Police Bernie Escalante notes, “National Night Out is an opportunity for the community to engage with officers in a casual setting, helping to build trust and understanding.”
Fire Chief Rob Oatey adds, “This event helps us connect with the community and highlight the services we provide while fostering a collaborative spirit.”
