Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on May 9

  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for roadway excavation. This closure will continue until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Soquel Drive, between Cotton Lane and Porter Street in Capitola/Soquel, is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The closure started on March 13 and is expected to end today. Work is happening on weeknights from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
     
  • A single lane is closed on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive due to a pipeline project. The closure is in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with traffic control measures in place.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue are experiencing road closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures in this area, weather permitting. Construction is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with specific work on April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is having storm damage repairs. This is causing single lane closures and traffic delays from January 16 to May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.
