Sections of Highway 9 in Santa Cruz County will see lanes closed intermittently this week as Caltrans crews continue slope repair and vegetation control work.
The closures, scheduled for much of the day Monday through Friday, will affect four segments of the highway. Travelers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes and one-way traffic controls in these areas on the following days:
- Monday and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. near Waterman Gap.
- Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. near Ben Lomond from Sunnycroft Road to Lorenzo Avenue.
- Thursday from 8:30 am to 3:30 p.m. near Ben Lomond Woodland Hills Resort to Western Avenue.
- Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from near Brookdale from Clear Creek Road to Lorenzo Avenue in Boulder Creek.
Crews are removing between 8,000 and 10,000 pounds of dead or dying dense brush daily to reduce wildfire risk.
