The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for a 35-year-old woman they say was most recently seen on Thursday and who might have been a victim of foul play.
Danielle Staley, 35, was last seen on Nov. 6 at about 11:23 p.m. around Rio Del Mar State Beach wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and leopard-print leggings. She is 5-foot-6 with blond hair and weighs 120 pounds.
Staley is not from the area, and investigators wrote in a social media post that they had received new information indicating she could be at risk, with foul play involved. The sheriff’s office did not elaborate on the new information and could not immediately be reached for comment on Monday.
The sheriff’s office is requesting the community’s assistance in tracking down her whereabouts, particularly from residents who live or work near Beach Drive, Rio Del Mar Boulevard, the Esplanade or any nearby streets.
Detectives are looking to review surveillance footage taken between Nov. 5 and Nov. 7. If residents in that area have security cameras that captured activity along or near these streets during that time, contact the sheriff’s office at 831-471-1121.
