More than 200 people gathered at the intersection of Ocean Street and Water Street on Monday evening to protest the U.S. and Israeli military action in Iran.
More than 200 people protested in downtown Santa Cruz on Monday evening against the joint United States-Israeli attack on Iran, which began Saturday.

The military action has so far resulted in the death of hundreds of civilians, including students at a girls elementary school in Iran, as well as the assassination of the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and a number of military and government officials.

There have also been reports of injuries and deaths in Lebanon, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and more. Four American servicemembers had also died as of Monday afternoon.

The Indivisible Santa Cruz County-led event included sign-waving, live music, and protesters holding up peace signs to oncoming cars. Attendees denounced President Donald Trump starting a war and bombing Iran without congressional approval, with some expressing their suspicions that the move was a distraction from the Epstein files.
