As a co-author of an op-ed that discussed the perils of conflating anti-Zionism and efforts to end Israel’s massive assault on Palestine with actual antisemitism, I am appalled at the op-ed you published by fellow Temple Beth El member Wynn Hausser. It is utter gaslighting to claim that protesting against U.S. complicity in the wholesale killing of Gazans is what led to the tragic assassination of two Israeli embassy staff members or the horrific attack on a march supporting the Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
I object to being called an extremist for standing against collective punishment, electrical blackouts, genocidal acts, war profiteering, deliberate starvation, murder, the bombing of schools and hospitals, the withholding of fuel and medical supplies and other actions that have led to the documented deaths of close to 65,000 people.
It is almost certain that the criminal attacks in Washington, D.C., and Boulder, Colorado, were precipitated by Israel’s unrelenting violence in Gaza and Israel’s attacks on the rest of Palestine as well as on Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran.
