Letter to the editor: We have written more than 70,000 postcards — we need more political groups

Thanks for the article about Scotts Valley’s newest political group. We need more of these groups all over the nation. Our own group, PerSisters and PerMisters, has been meeting in Scotts Valley since January 2017. About 30 of us meet each week to write postcards directly to voters, and we’ve watched groups like ours spring up across the United States. 

We obtain addresses and scripts from organizations like Postcards to Voters, Activate America and others. We supply our own postcards, postage, pens and other supplies. Since 2017, we have written 70,000 cards to voters. And we’ve seen big wins in some campaigns, while we’ve narrowed the gaps in others. 

We also participate in the Indivisible marches and protests. Anyone can join a local group and make your voices heard.
