We are seeking reliable, patient, and dedicated Behavioral Support Specialists to join our team for the upcoming school year. If you want a meaningful local job that leaves a lasting positive impact on a childโs life, we want to hear from you!
The Role & Responsibilities
As a 1:1 specialist, you will work directly with an assigned student in a classroom setting who requires extra support with executive functioning, behavioral plans, or physical accommodations.
Behavioral Support: Implement individualized behavioral plans to proactively manage and reduce classroom disruptions, aggressive tendencies, or elopement behaviors.
IEP Implementation: Support the studentโs learning by adapting general classroom materials and curriculum to match their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals.
Safety & Supervision: Provide consistent line-of-sight supervision to ensure your assigned studentโs physical safety and overall well-being.
Data Tracking: Keep accurate, routine daily data tracking records on your studentโs behavioral progress and milestones following established protocols.
Collaborative Care: Work closely with classroom teachers, program supervisors, and therapists to maintain a supportive, positive team environment.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Negative TB test result (or willing to obtain).
Current CPR certification (Can be completed through BalanceSCC paid training).
Completion of Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (Can be completed through BalanceSCC paid training).
Preferred: Prior experience working with individuals who exhibit neurodivergent or challenging behaviors is a huge plus, but passion and a willingness to learn are highly valued!
