This month, Lookout announced its national expansion, with the upcoming launch of Lookout Eugene-Springfield in early 2025. This marks the first step in building a network of community news organizations across the country. Eugene-Springfield, Oregon’s second-largest metro area, will soon have a newsroom dedicated to delivering high-quality, trustworthy local news, modeled after our award-winning Santa Cruz operation, which earned a 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News.
Lookout Eugene-Springfield is currently hiring more than a dozen journalists and business professionals and partnering with Oregon Public Broadcasting to strengthen local and regional reporting.
