Road incidents as of 7 a.m. on September 14

  • A traffic crash happened today on Highway 1 South between 1538 and 1586, near Watsonville and Pajaro. A Peterbilt dump truck and a Ford Escort were involved, and the Ford Escort drove into nearby fields after the crash. A silver Explorer might have also been part of the incident. Emergency services responded to the scene.
     
  • Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley will have alternating lane closures because of bridge work. This will continue until April 30, 2027, at 6:59 a.m.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on SR-129 at Highway 1 in Watsonville and Pajaro for paving work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.

  • A lane on North Highway 1 at March Monte Avenue in Aptos is closed for road excavation work. The closure will end today at 4:59 p.m.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on South Highway 1 at Bay Avenue in Capitola / Soquel because of shoulder work. The closure is expected to end at 6:30 a.m. today.
     
  • There is one-way traffic on SR-152 at Martinelli Street in Watsonville and Pajaro because of road striping work. The closure will end at 5:59 a.m. today.
