Road incidents as of 8 a.m. on February 2
- A traffic collision happened at 7:43 a.m. today on the Freedom Blvd. onramp to Highway 1 North in Aptos. A gray Hyundai Santa Fe and a gray Nissan Sentra were involved after one vehicle reportedly cut off the other. Debris and fluids were left on the road, and one driver may be injured and was not getting out of the vehicle. Emergency services and a tow truck responded to the scene.
- South Highway 9 at Lorenzo Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley has one-way traffic because of emergency work. This closure will last until April 1.
- South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive in Eastside / Live Oak is facing closures for K-rail installation. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
- A lane on westbound SR-152 at Clifford Drive/Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville/Pajaro is closed for asphalt paving. The closure will last until July 3.
- A lane on west SR-129 at Harvest Drive in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for utility work. The closure will end today at 3:01 p.m.
- One lane of North Highway 9 at Encinal Street in the Westside / Downtown area is closed for shoulder work. The closure will last until 3:01 p.m. on February 28.
- One-way traffic control is in place on SR-236 at Glen Way in San Lorenzo Valley because of tree work. The closure is expected to end at 2:30 p.m. today.
- A medium-sized animal carrier with a bird flying around it was seen on the right shoulder of Highway 1 South at 41st Ave. in Eastside / Live Oak. No vehicles were stopped at the scene. The incident was reported on Feb 1.
