Road incidents as of 8:30 p.m. on November 17

  • A traffic collision with unknown injuries happened at the Salinas Road onramp in the Watsonville/Pajaro area today at 8:23 p.m.
     
  • Northbound Highway 1 at Route 152 in Watsonville / Pajaro is facing closures for paving work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at Route 152 in Watsonville / Pajaro are closed for paving work. The closure is expected to end at 5:01 a.m. today.
     
  • A lane on southbound Highway 1 at Airport Blvd. in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for guardrail work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • A lane on westbound SR-152 at Clifford Drive/Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville/Pajaro is closed for curb, gutter, and sidewalk work. The closure is expected to end at 2:59 p.m. today.
     
  • A lane on West SR-129 at Locust Street in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for utility work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. today.
     
  • A lane on East SR-129 at Main Street in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for pavement repair. The closure is expected to end at 5:01 a.m. on November 19.
     
  • A traffic hazard was reported at the intersection of Shrine Way and Keystone Way in the Westside/Downtown area today. The fire department was on the way because the hazard was near a propane tank.
     
  • A traffic collision happened at Branciforte Dr and Mill Rd around 6:00 p.m. A vehicle went into a ditch, and a large dog at the scene was not hurt. Both lanes were blocked while the vehicle was recovered, but the road reopened by 7:11 p.m. The fire department took the dog to a veterinary hospital as a precaution. This was reported today in the Eastside / Live Oak area.
     
  • Southbound Highway 17 in the Eastside / Live Oak area is facing closures for road striping. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. on November 19.
     
  • Defective traffic signals were reported at the intersection of Soquel Drive and Park Avenue in Capitola/Soquel at 4:59 p.m. today.
     
  • A tree fell and blocked both lanes of Vine Hill Road at 1675 Vine Hill Rd in Scotts Valley at 3:05 p.m. today. The road is closed and is expected to stay closed until at least tomorrow.
     
  • Northbound Highway 17 in Scotts Valley is facing closures for road striping. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on November 19.
     
  • There was flooding and two large mudslides in the westbound lane of San Andreas Road just west of Sunset Beach in Santa Cruz County at 7:17 a.m. today.
     
  • Southbound Highway 1 in Aptos is facing closures for road work by Gore Paving. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Northbound Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley is down to one-way traffic because of emergency work. This closure is expected to last until 3:59 p.m. on December 5.
     
  • There is one-way traffic control on Highway 9 at Bear Creek Road in San Lorenzo Valley because of ongoing work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. today.
     
  • A lane on Highway 9 at Glen Arbor Road (Upper) in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for ramp reconstruction. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. today.
     
  • A lane on Highway 9 at Main Street in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for ramp reconstruction. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. today.
     
  • There is one-way traffic control on SR-236 at Little Basin Road in San Lorenzo Valley because of tree work. The closure is expected to end at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • PG&E began work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom on May 12. Construction is expected to continue through November 25, with a soft closure in the area.
