Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently accepting public comments on a zoning application for a proposed project at 410 Trout Gulch Road in Aptos, but will stop accepting comments after February 10. The project seeks to convert an existing two-story commercial building—formerly a dental office—into a duplex, with residential living spaces on both the first and second floors. The property is 3,877 square feet, with the lower level of the building measuring 1,103 square feet and the upper level 580 square feet. The conversion requires an Administrative Use Permit and will not include fire sprinklers. Existing parking, driveways, and some open space will remain, and the project will comply with current California building codes. Residents who wish to provide input or express concerns about the project must submit their comments before the February 10 deadline. (view application)
