Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has formally approved a zoning application for a project at 260 Rio Del March Blvd. in Aptos. The approved project will remodel the existing commercial swimming pool at the site, which is approximately 254 square feet in size and ranges from 3 to 6 feet in depth. Planned improvements include replacing and upgrading the pool’s plumbing, coping, plaster finish, skimmer, and equalizer. New pool equipment will be installed, such as a variable speed pump, filter, heater, LED pool light, control panel, and pressure cleaner. Safety features will be added, including compliant covers, alarms on access points, and tempered glass where required. The pool deck will also receive new drainage systems to better manage water flow. All work will be performed in compliance with current California building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and energy codes. The project required and received a Minor Coastal Development Permit.
