Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles happened on Highway 1 North at the Freedom Blvd off-ramp. Both vehicles were driveable, and there were no injuries. The vehicles were on the right-hand side of the road. The incident was reported today.
     
  • Alternating lanes on South Highway 1 at Soquel Drive are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
     
  • The northbound lanes of Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Eastside/Live Oak are fully closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. today.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 at Soquel Drive in Eastside/Live Oak are fully closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • A lane on North / South Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for electrical work. The closure is expected to end at 1:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • North Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley is currently closed for emergency work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     

Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department has received a zoning application to renew a Vacation Rental Permit for a five-bedroom vacation rental at 636 Beach Drive in Aptos. Residents are encouraged to submit comments on the proposal by April 11. (view application)
