Property development

  • The Santa Cruz County Planning Department is currently reviewing a zoning application for a proposed one-bedroom, non-hosted short-term rental at 833 Valencia Rd., Aptos. If approved, the permit would allow overnight lodging for up to four guests at a time, with stays limited to 30 days or less. The property would offer one on-site parking space and one non-exclusive street parking space. Safety features at the site include smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, egress windows and doors, a hot tub with a locking safety cover, and decks equipped with required guardrails. Residents who wish to submit public comments on this application must do so before the Planning Department’s deadline of Sept. 1. (view application)
