Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • CHP helped with construction on Highway 1 South at the Park Ave. offramp in Capitola / Soquel. The incident started at 5:44 a.m. as a request for traffic control and then changed to assisting with construction. Two CHP units were called: one to do a traffic break starting at Bay Porter, and another to help at the scene. There was a scheduling issue because the offramp closure was supposed to happen at 6:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. This was reported today.

  • Long-term projects: Highway 1 will have overnight ramp and lane closures between Riverside and Larkin Valley Road in Santa Cruz County from Sunday, December 7, through Friday, December 12, for road striping and maintenance. A long-term lane closure is still in place on Highway 9 between Lorenzo Ave and Prospect Ave, about .9 miles south of the Route 236 junction in Santa Cruz County, for work on a retaining wall and drainage replacement.
