We’re a digital local newspaper, but we are a part of the physical community every day, and there’s a lot happening in Santa Cruz County. We’re in touch with events of all kinds, for members and readers. Here’s the sampling for the upcoming month. Nov. 1: Watsonville Film Festival 7th Annual Día de Muertos

Celebrate life and honor your loved ones at Día de Muertos hosted by the Watsonville Film Festival. Activities and performances begin in Watsonville Plaza at 3:30 p.m. Join for sugar skull decorating, folkloric dances, paper flower making, soulful musicians, an art marketplace and more.

Nov. 9: Wine and Roses

Support health and wellness in Pajaro Valley and join us at Community Health Trust’s annual fundraiser! Located in Crosetti Hall in the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, this spectacular night will be filled with amazing food and wine tastings.

Nov. 9: The Drums at the Catalyst

American indie pop band The Drums will be back in town to perform their new album, “Brutalism.” A twist from their old surf rock vibe, The Drums’ fifth LP delves into new territory, inspired by SOPHIE’s hyperpop to 1990s band Whale’s electronic trip-hop. Tune in and turn out for this performance next Saturday night!

Nov. 21: Greyboy Allstars at Moe’s Alley

Renowned California jazz-funk revivalists are visiting Santa Cruz! With credits alongside Elton John, CeeLo Green and Sia, bassist Chris Stillwell and drummer Aaron Redfield are in demand. Infused with influences from Lenny Kravitz and James Brown, don’t miss this opportunity to see the Allstars perform their discography!

Nov. 11: Kandace Springs at Kuumbwa Jazz

See Kandace Springs perform her 2024 album “Run Your Race” at the Kuumbwa Jazz Cafe! Raised by legendary Nashville soul singer Scat Springs, “Run Your Race” is a tribute to her late father with sounds reminiscent of her early inspirations, including Nina Simone and Norah Jones. The show starts at 7 p.m. and you’re invited an hour early for a special dinner, starting at 6 p.m.
