Max Chun leads us off from Live Oak, where residents in two mobile home parks who have been told they’ll need to move their homes to make way for segments of the rail trail say legal action is on the table. “If we refuse to move, they’re gonna have to take it to court,” says one resident. “And the plan is that we’re not moving.”
Hillary Ojeda has a pair of stories from UC Santa Cruz, with an update on where things stand with the pro-Palestine encampment that’s been on Quarry Plaza for nearly two weeks, and a look at events at the adjacent Quarry Amphitheater that have been moved amid the protests.

After residents told to move their mobile homes for Coastal Rail Trail, some mull legal action
Residents in two Live Oak mobile home parks directly beside the rail line fear they could be displaced by the Coastal Rail Trail project, specifically, Segments 10 and 11 that run right between the two parks. As the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission prepares to consider options for the residents, those living in the parks have begun seriously weighing legal action. Max Chun reports.
Nearly two weeks into UCSC encampment, about 60 tents remain in place
At the pro-Palestine encampment at UC Santa Cruz on Monday, students said they have no plans to disband their camp after negotiations failed with administrators on Friday. Students and administrators said negotiations have not restarted yet. Get the update here from Hillary Ojeda.
