Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • There is a traffic break and closure on Highway 17 in both directions at Mount Hermon Road/Glen Canyon Road in Scotts Valley because of utility work. This closure is expected to last until 10:30 a.m. on May 31.
     
  • There are alternating lane closures on both northbound and southbound Highway 9 at Pool Drive in Boulder Creek because of bridge work. The closures are expected to end on April 30, 2027.
     
  • A lane on north Highway 17 at Granite Creek Road in Scotts Valley is closed for utility work. The closure is expected to last until 6:01 a.m. on May 31.
     
  • There is one-way traffic on Highway 9 at Cascade Avenue in Brookdale because of ongoing work. This is expected to end on Aug. 31.
     
  • Long-term projects: Main St will be completely closed at 9460 Central Ave. in Ben Lomond during work hours today and tomorrow while crews replace a pole anchor and span guy.

Community crime report

  • Police responded to a case where an elderly or dependent adult was injured and falsely imprisoned. The incident happened near the 2000 block of Apple Knoll in Boulder Creek at 10 p.m. on May 10. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for causing injury to a partner, battery resulting in serious injury, having a controlled substance, and battery. This happened near the 12800 block of Central Ave. in Boulder Creek at 8 p.m. on May 13. Multiple charges were filed on different dates and case numbers. (source)
     
  • Multiple charges including weapons, burglary, and drug offenses were reported near the 300 block of River Drive, Boulder Creek, at 5 p.m. on May 15. (source)
     
  • Police responded to a case involving possession of a controlled substance and abuse of an elder or dependent adult. The incident happened near the 6200 block of Graham Hill Road, Felton, at 3 p.m. on May 7. (source)
     
  • A domestic violence incident happened near the 4000 block of Brackney Road in Ben Lomond at 3 a.m. on May 10. (source)
     
  • A domestic battery incident happened near the 6000 block of Hubbard Gulch Road in Ben Lomond at 2 a.m. on May 6. (source)
     
  • A person was arrested for violating a domestic violence prevention order and obstructing a public officer. The incident happened near the 2000 block of Saint Francis Drive, Boulder Creek, at 3 p.m. on May 8. (source)
