Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Highway 9 at Cascade Avenue in Brookdale has one-way traffic due to ongoing work. This closure is expected to last until Aug. 31.
     
  • There will be alternating lane closures on Highway 9 at Pool Drive in Boulder Creek because of bridge work. This is scheduled to continue until April 30, 2027.

Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Santa Cruz reports both those who have passed the inspections and those that the county deems to have a “major” issue. The county’s full ongoing report can be accessed here.

  • Quaker Center at 1000 Hubbard Gulch Rd., Ben Lomond, passed a county health inspection on June 9 with no critical issues.
     
  • Mission Springs Conference Center at 1050 Lockhart Gulch Rd., Scotts Valley, passed a county health inspection on June 15 with no critical issues.
