Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • The southbound lanes of Highway 17 are facing closures for drainage work. The closure will continue until July 2 at 7:01 a.m.
     
  • Alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at the High St. Pedestrian Crossing in Westside/Downtown are closed due to electrical work. The closure will end today at 5:59 a.m.
     
  • Alternating lanes on South Highway 1 at Bay Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for sign work. The closure is expected to end at 5:01 a.m. on June 27.
     
  • South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for roadway excavation. The closure will end at 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     
  • The northbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. The closure will last until early morning on June 27, ending at 4:59 a.m.
     
  • The northbound lane of Highway 1 at Buena Vista Drive in Watsonville / Pajaro is closed for shoulder work. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on June 30.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on North/South Highway 9 at Prospect Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley due to drainage work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. on June 30.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 9 in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for utility work at Postmile 13.6. The closure is expected to end today at 1:01 p.m.
     
  • Long-term projects: A single lane on Sims Road is closed from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive due to a pipeline project. The closure is in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with traffic control measures in place.
     

Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Santa Cruz reports both those who have passed the inspections and those that the county deems to have a “major” issue. The county’s full ongoing report can be accessed here.

  • Osso at 100 Enterprise Way Ste G100, Scotts Valley, passed a county health inspection on June 23 with no critical issues.
