Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • South Highway 1 at Buena Vista Drive in Watsonville / Pajaro is facing closures for drainage work. The closure is expected to end at 3:59 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley has alternating lane closures because of bridge work. The closures are expected to end at 6:59 a.m. on April 30, 2027.
     
  • There is one-way traffic on Highway 9 at Cascade Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of ongoing work. This is expected to last until 7:01 a.m. on August 31.
     
  • A lane on South Highway 9 at San Lorenzo Way in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for utility work. The closure will end at 8:01 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on North Highway 9 at Graham Hill/Bennett St. in San Lorenzo Valley because of road striping work. The closure will end by 5:59 a.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes are closed on South Highway 9 at El Solyo Heights Drive in San Lorenzo Valley because of road striping work. The closure is expected to end at 5:59 a.m. today.
     

Community crime report

  • A person was arrested on several charges, including having a weapon at a K-12 school, having illegal drug items, violating probation, shoplifting with previous offenses, trespassing, fighting in public, and having illegal drugs. The incident happened near Heller Dr and Rachel Carson Rd in Santa Cruz County at 11 p.m. on June 17. The person was released at 2:07 a.m. on June 18. (source)
