Southbound Highway 1 will close at Park Avenue from 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, to accommodate work on north- and southbound auxiliary lanes and bus-on-shoulder improvements between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street interchange serving Capitola and Soquel and the State Park Drive interchange in Aptos.
Motorists will be detoured off Highway 1 at Park Avenue and take Soquel Drive before rejoining Highway 1 at the State Park Drive onramp. Message and directional signs will be in place to guide them.
The work is part of a $78 million project being completed by Watsonville-based Granite Construction that is expected to run through September 2026.
