The Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury is calling on residents to submit complaints and concerns about the operation of various aspects of county and city government, fire and water districts “or the officers and personnel within them.”
An online citizen complaint form asks residents to describe “incidents of governmental misconduct, inefficiency or perceived mistreatment.”
“This is a prime time for locals to get involved with their government,” foreperson Mike Weatherford said in a release.
The Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury, which recently began its one-year term, is a state-mandated, volunteer-led government watchdog group of 19 members that has recently produced investigations into county jail conditions, road conditions and affordable housing.
Complaint forms on paper are available outside Room 318-I in the County Government Center, 701 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.
