The Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District’s annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive will return for another year to support local families facing food insecurity during the holidays.
In partnership with Woodstock’s Pizza, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, the event will take place on Wed., Dec. 3 at Woodstock’s Pizza. There will be a community-wide food collection 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a private chamber after-hours event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A Metro bus will be parked outside Woodstock’s Pizza throughout the afternoon for volunteers to fill it with non-perishable food items. All food collected will go to local families through Metro nonprofit partners.
“Stuff the Bus is a meaningful opportunity for all of us to come together and support our neighbors facing food insecurity,” said Metro Board Chair Rebecca Downing in a statement.
