Watsonville police say they arrested two teenagers in connection with a September shooting at a shopping center. Security footage captured a suspect firing at two people as they fled in their vehicle, the authorities said.
The suspect, Pedro Taz Hernandez, 19, turned himself in to police this week after an investigation that included multiple search warrants. A 17-year-old suspect was also arrested in the case.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the 1700 block of Freedom Boulevard. Officers found shell casings but no victims. Security cameras showed the suspect confronting two people as they left a store before opening fire on their vehicle as they drove away. No injuries were reported.
Hernandez faces charges of attempted murder, willful discharge of a firearm, shooting at a vehicle and assault with a firearm.
