Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on Apr. 22

  • There was a construction-related incident on Highway 17 Southbound near Sugarloaf Road in Scotts Valley. The California Highway Patrol assisted with the situation. This was reported today.
     
  • There was a construction-related incident at the intersection of Highway 1 South and Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. The California Highway Patrol assisted with the situation. This was reported today.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive in Scotts Valley, is closed today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. due to a pipeline project by SCWD and SVWD. Traffic control measures are in place.
     
  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue is closed due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures on Richmond and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, weather permitting. Construction also took place on April 12-13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
     
  • Green Valley Road, from Holohan Road to Mesa Verde Road in Watsonville/Pajaro, will have single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The work is expected to finish by April 30th, weather permitting. Expect delays or consider other routes.
     
  • A single lane on Soquel Drive between Cotton Lane and Porter Street is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The work is happening at night on weeknights from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The closure will continue until May 9.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Rd in San Lorenzo Valley is closed from December 23 to April 25, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., to build two retaining walls, causing traffic delays.
     
  • A single lane on Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is closed for storm damage repair, leading to traffic delays. The closure started on January 16 and is expected to continue until May 13, weather permitting. Work is happening from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
