Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on September 2
- There was a construction-related incident on northbound Highway 17 at Sugarloaf Road in Scotts Valley. CHP assisted with the situation. The incident was reported today.
- 430 5th Ave. in Santa Cruz will be closed today from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. while PG&E replaces a utility pole and an overhead transformer.
- The Park Avenue ramps on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz County, Eastside / Live Oak, will reopen on September 5. The long-term closure of the Bay Avenue/Porter Street ramps on Highway 1 has been postponed. Construction is still ongoing in the area to add new lanes and bus improvements between the Bay Avenue/Porter Street and State Park Drive interchanges.
- Construction on State Route 152 (Main Street) near 558 Main Street in Watsonville, between 5th Street and midway towards 6th Street, will start on Wednesday, September 3 and continue through Friday, October 3.
- Starting August 25, the northbound lane of Highway 9 between Lorenzo Avenue and Prospect Avenue in Santa Cruz County, San Lorenzo Valley, is closed for emergency repairs. The work is expected to finish by December 5, depending on the weather.
Long-term projects
These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.
- PG&E has started work to replace a gas main in the Arroyo and Jolon Drive neighborhood off Green Valley Road in Corralitos / Freedom. There is a soft road closure in the area. Construction is underway and will continue through November 25.
