With the New Year right around the corner, the City of Watsonville is modifying its trash collection schedule this week.

The city provides curbside collection of recycling, garbage and yard waste. For residents whose usual collection dates fall on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, pickup dates will be bumped forward a day.

Trash regularly collected on Wednesday, Jan. 1, will instead be collected on Thursday, Jan. 2. Thursday’s trash collection will move to Friday, and the city will pick up trash on Saturday for those whose garbage day is normally Friday. The city will resume regular collection dates the following week.

Additionally, all nonessential city offices will be closed through Wednesday. This will include the Waste and Recycling Drop-Off Center on Harvest Drive.
