Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on September 16
- A hit and run with injuries happened today on Highway 1 northbound at Park in the Capitola/Soquel area. A small blue or black compact car stopped in the center divider after hitting an attenuator. A dark-colored Ford sedan was also involved and had damage to the front and side. The crash caused other cars to brake and swerve. Emergency services responded, and lanes were reopened later, but some flares were still lit.
- South Highway 1 at Park Avenue in Capitola / Soquel is facing closures for paving work. The closure is expected to end at 7:01 a.m. on Nov. 19.
- There is one-way traffic on SR-129 at the Salsipueda Creek Bridge in Watsonville / Pajaro because of pavement work. The closure will end at 2:59 p.m. today.
- Highway 9 at Pool Drive in San Lorenzo Valley has alternating lane closures because of bridge work. This will continue until April 30, 2027, at 6:59 a.m.

- There is one-way traffic on SR-236 at Azalea Avenue in San Lorenzo Valley because of tree work. The closure is expected to end at 2:01 a.m. today.
- CHP helped with construction work at the intersection of Highway 1 South and Park in Capitola/Soquel today.
- CHP helped Caltrans with maintenance work at the northbound Highway 17 and Pasatiempo Drive offramp in the Eastside / Live Oak area today.
