We’re voting for Gerry Jensen for Capitola City Council this November because his love for Capitola is evident through actions, not just promises.
Recently, before the 2022-23 storms, Gerry helped businesses install sandbags to limit water damage. Afterward, he assisted with recovery and repairs. When a 200-foot section of the cliff on Depot Hill fell, Gerry rallied the community and sponsors to build a new fence and reopen the pedestrian path in one weekend, all with zero budget.
He also led the Capitola Wharf Enhancement Project, raising over $425,000 to improve the wharf, and raised funds to repaint the senior center. When a cherished member of our community had his bike stolen, Gerry assembled support and had the bike replaced within 24 hours.
As a member of the Capitola Planning Commission, Gerry understands our city’s housing challenges. He advocates for solutions to the housing crisis and is well-versed in the local housing element. Further, we appreciate how Gerry champions transparency in all decisions.
