Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on Apr. 29

  • A hit and run incident happened at 2525 Soquel Dr in Eastside / Live Oak. The reporting party’s vehicle was rear-ended while the gate was open, and the suspect vehicle continued to ram it. No injuries were reported. The incident was reported today.
     
  • There was a construction-related traffic incident at the intersection of Highway 1 North and Buena Vista in Watsonville/Pajaro. Officer Herrera was involved in the incident while in a separate vehicle. The information was last updated at 9:30 p.m. today.
     
  • Alternating lanes on East SR-129 at Locust Street in Watsonville / Pajaro are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • Alternating lanes on East SR-152 at Holm Road in Watsonville / Pajaro are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • The alternating lanes on West SR-152 at Freedom Blvd. in Watsonville / Pajaro are closed for landscape work. The closure is expected to end at 3:01 p.m. tomorrow.
     
  • The alternating lanes on North Highway 1 at 41st Avenue in Capitola/Soquel are closed for a striping operation. The closure is expected to end at 4:59 a.m. on May 5.
     
  • The southbound lanes of Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel are facing closures for road excavation. This closure will continue until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     
  • A lane on North Highway 17 at Spanish Bit Chapel in Scotts Valley is closed for tree work. The closure is expected to end at 12:01 p.m. today.
     
  • There is a one-way traffic closure on North/South SR-236 at Via Paloma Road in San Lorenzo Valley due to slope repair work. The closure is expected to end today at 3:59 p.m.
     
  • Vegetation control work is ongoing at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 236 in San Lorenzo Valley. This work, part of a project by Caltrans to reduce wildfire risk, will continue with daytime traffic control from April 28 to May 2.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed today from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a pipeline project by SCWD and SLVWD. Traffic control is in place to manage vehicle flow.
     
  • Richmond Drive at Portola Drive and 24th Avenue is closed due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures on Richmond and Portola Drive, depending on the weather. Construction is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended work hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 12-13.
     
  • Green Valley Road, from Holohan Road to Mesa Verde Road in Watsonville/Pajaro, will have single lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect delays or find another route. The work should be done by April 30, weather permitting.
     
  • Several roads in Aptos are closed for the West Cliff Sewer Project. The affected roads are Middlefield Dr (between Seacliff and Cross), Seacliff Dr (between Middlefield and Oakhill), and Margaret & Gertrude Ave. (between Mcgregor and Mar Vista). These roads will be closed daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until May 5.
     
  • A single lane on Soquel Drive, between Cotton Lane and Porter Street in Capitola/Soquel, is closed for the Soquel Village Emergency Sewer Project. The closure is in effect from March 25 to May 9, with work happening on weeknights only from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
     
  • Little Basin Road near Big Basin Way in San Lorenzo Valley is having storm damage repairs, causing single lane closures and traffic delays. The work is happening from January 16 to May 13, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on the weather.
