Road incidents as of 9:30 p.m. on July 21

  • A traffic hazard was reported today on Highway 1 Northbound at the Soquel intersection. The incident was updated at 9:30 p.m.
     
  • A traffic crash happened at the intersection of Elkhorn and Hall in Watsonville/Pajaro involving a grey Mitsubishi Lancer and a black Honda crossover. It was reported at 8:29 p.m. Emergency services were sent to the scene, and two people were involved, with one person having a head injury. Tow services were requested for the Mitsubishi Lancer.
     
  • South Highway 1 in Capitola/Soquel is facing closures for road excavation. The closure will last until 6:30 a.m. on August 29.
     

Long-term projects

These have been going on for a while, but are still worth keeping in mind.

  • A single lane on Sims Road and La Madrona Drive, from Brook Knoll Road to 600 La Madrona Drive, is closed for the SCWD and SLVWD intertie pipeline project. The closure is in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with traffic control measures in place.
     
  • Richmond Drive and Portola Drive at 24th Avenue are experiencing road closures due to the Rodeo pump station capacity upgrade project. Expect traffic delays and lane closures, weather permitting. Construction is happening from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended work hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 12-13.
